                         CAPSICUM PUTTANALA MASALA CURRY

Today I prepared mouth watering capsicum curry with puttanalu(fried Bengal gram).
This curry that does not have very spicy masala and it is a simple masala.Basically it is traditional south Indian curry. My mother taught me when I went to home for the delivery of my baby. Let us see what are required and how to prepare it.
Ingredients:
1)      Capsicum  - 250 gms
2)      Onions   -1nos(medium sized)
3)      Green Chilies -2 nos
4)      Red chili powder -1/2 tsp
5)      Garam masala – 1 tsp (optional)
6)      Salt   -for taste
7)      Oil – 3 tsp

For masala
1)      Puttanalu(fried Bengal gram) – 3 tbsp
2)      Dried Red chillies  -2 nos
3)      Dried coconut powder -1 tsp
4)      Jeera(cumin seeds)  - 1tsp
5)      Cardamom seeds  -1 tsp
For tampering
1)Red chillies – 1 nos
2) curry leaves -6-7 leaves
3)Bengal gram – ½ tsp
4)urad dal (black gram) -1/2 tsp
5)mustard seeds – 1 tsp

Procedure:
Put the frying pan( I basically use nonstick pan because it doesnot  need much oil,and also it curry won’t burn up easily) pour oil and use all other tampering items.then fry finely chopped  onion and green chillies.
When onion turns to golden brown add cut capsicum. At the same time add salt for taste. Adding salt at time will let capsicum fry early.

In the mean while finely grind all the masala items without adding water
Fig(2)

Let the capsicum fry until oil leaves from the sides.you can see from the figure(3)oil is left from the capsicum.you can confirm from this it is correctly fried.

Now add red chilli powder ,garam masala, and the masala prepared .If you don’t have garam masala don’t worry. Leave it and add remaining items

Let it fry for some more time.

Now turn off the stove.Delicious capsicum curry is ready to serve.
